FuelBelt Helium Team in Training 4 Bottle Belt Review

FuelBelt Helium Team in Training 4 Bottle Belt

Love my fuel belts! Only thing about the helium is that the little dots that make it so comfortable get frayed in only a season or so of use. Bottles are a good size, stay secure in the holders. Fuel belt offers a variety of pocket options you can purchase seperately because the one included isn't big enough for most new types of cell phones.

Nike Golf Men's Tech Core Stripe Polo Review

Nike Golf Men's Tech Core Stripe Polo

It's comfortable even in hot weather, and dries very quickly to prevent the nasty sweat streaks. The design is simple horizontal pinstripes, with the Nike logo on the left sleeve to avoid the walking billboard look. The price is great compared to other similar Dri-fit type polo shirts; I had ordered 5 in various colors and love them.

TYR Alliance Team II Backpack Review

TYR Alliance Team II Backpack
Average Reviews:

[...].
Picked up this backback as an emergancy replacement for an old PING duffle I was using after my morning shake decided to empty istelf all over the inside this morning, WHOOPS!

I decided to purchase a backpack and a seperate "wet" bag for my kickboard, pull buoy, etc.

Now to preface my review here I am an absolute bag snob. I used to skate, I used to and am now swimming, I ride motorcycles, I am into gadgets, and cameras, and video cameras, etc. etc. After acquiring the gear for all of these various activites I have learned what makes a good bag and what does not.

First and foremost for any bag purchase is comfort, position, and quality of the straps. If the strap breaks off then it doesnt matter how roomy or how many pockets a bag has. Thankfully this bag has you covered; an integrated grab handle, lightly gel cushioned straps with chest clips and a d-ring, a nylon waist strap with adjustable clip, and two seperate gel cushion for both the upper and lower back provide a comfortable and customizable fit for just about anyone. There is a "cellphone" holder integrated onto the chest straps but unless your rocking an oldschool nokia from the turn of the century then this pocket will most likely not fit your cell; especially any sort of smartphone or even a damn moto razor (to wide). I will most likely lobotomize this useless appendage as well as the waist strap which I appreciate but rarely use. One negative I can give the bag is the use of single stitching on the straps; from my days lugging around heavy skates I can tell you that double or even triple stitching is the way to go on backback straps but only time will tell if this will be a problem.

Secondary to the way a bag attaches to the user is the space and features it provides and here this bag falls terribly short. There is a divider in the main compartment but it cant fit a TYR kickboard so Im guessing its either for a laptop or just for seperation yet either of those features is unwarrented in a gym bag. The compartment for storing shoes comes up from the bottom via an externally accessible pocket and works as advertised however the goggles saver pouch and music player pockets described above do not. The pocket for the music player is a pocket inside a pocket with no grommet to feed your headphone cables through making it worthless, and why would you put an electric device into a pocket with wet goggles?? I would suggest using the cellphone pocket on the main straps but once again its to narrow for a modern ipoh touch, classic, iphone, zune, etc. although it might fit a nano. Hanging a suit from the caribiners would drag your garments across the floor behind you so, although they look useful for other things, I think the marketing department was more involved with their purposing then the engineering team. The last two pockets are on either side of the bag and can hold 2 bottle of water each however they are zippered pockets, why there is no drawstring style bottle holder is an absolute mystery to me.

All in all the bag is sufficiently large to dump your cheange of clothes into and force into a gym locker but I cant help but feel that TYR needs to release a version 3.0 to really make this bag worth it for your average swimmers day to day needs.

Brooks Team Pro Alpe d'Huez Saddle Review

Brooks Team Pro Alpe d'Huez Saddle

After hearing about how hard Brooks saddles were to break in I really never considered getting one. 22 cycling years later after joining a cycling group that all swear by them, and a biometric high tech seat that was destroying gooch; decided to take a risk and buy one.
When I got it I put it on my Specialized high tech carbon fiber bike. It looked like a dichotomy of 1880's verses 2009 technologies. I read about all the quick ways to pre-condition the saddle but decided to take it for a ride before touching it. Well what I found was that I could ride at a higher height with out soreness while having more power with no difficulties what so ever. As a matter of fact I rode 45 miles on my first outing. The second day was just as good. I can't wait until it really breaks in to feel what awaits me. I wish I would have bought this (verses the 5 or 6 other high end seats that I used) ten years ago.

TYR Alliance Team II Duffle Bag Review

TYR Alliance Team II Duffle Bag

I bought this bag for my football equipment. The main section is big enough to fit 2 pair of cleats, the cones which line the field and one football. I keep multiple pair of gloves in the side compartment and my replacement detachable cleats in the front compartment. It also has a small mini-zippered pocket for keys/wallet/phone/etc in the main zipper compartment. The straps are solid and the bag is made very well. It is better than I expected!!!

I liked this because it says Team In Training on it, however, the sewing on the inner velcro (there are 2) broke apart after a week. :( Thankfully the outer velcro is still good. I just need to sew the inner velcro back.

RS800CX Multi Sport Heart Rate Monitor w/ G3 GPS Sensor - Unisex Review

RS800CX Multi Sport Heart Rate Monitor w/ G3 GPS Sensor - Unisex
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Polar RS800CX Multi Sport Heart Rate Monitor Watch with G3 GPS Sensor W.I.N.D.I have had the Polar 625X for a number of years. The 625X product really has not changed but it works very well. Changing to RS800CX was pretty easy as a result, but of not a Polar user need to read manual and get the many features. Since I like to mountain bike, run, and/or road ride (Triathlons) I needed something that would give me HRM data as well as the other data from the 625x that I like to see. The 625X only had a foot pod for pace and a special bike adapter for biking. So I liked the Altitude, speed, pace, HR data, and HRM zones but so many devices. What I really like about the RS800CX:
- I can use on all bikes and running without special equipment everywhere.
- The look and feel of the watch so I can wear it all the time it fits under work shirt sleeves. I had to take the big and unstylish 625x on and off all the time since it was unsightly and bulky.
- The GPS unit turns on and quickly acquires signal. Also strap built very well.
To exercise you just turn on GPS, start your watch and forget about all of it until you want to check your pace or HR zone. The flashing heart in your custom training zone 1-5 is very helpful in the display. Like most watches exercising and flipping through screens can be be a challenge. As is finding a balance between viewability and the amount of data that can be displayed on the small screen and in big letters. Increase the screen size too much and you have a computer that can't be worn all the time and as a result is likely to be forgotten for many workouts (some Garmins). I am not sure of the balance has been struck on the Polar RS800CX but I was able to see most of what I wanted to see without an issue and was able to flip through screens during the workout to see pace, HR and a few other data.
After exercise I just pointed the watch at the Infrared device and load my exercises into the excellent Polar 5 software. I can then analyze graphically and with data the zones and how my workout fit my goals. Some people have complained about the GPS not integrating with mapping etc. I really don't want that feature so if you do you have to go to Garmin or other device - I think. This watch is about valuable data and not fancy GPS mapping features. And that is coming from a real gadget geek. I really like the software and Polar is a great HRM company from my experience. I would guess but don't know that Garmin with its roots in GPS would provide a more comprehensive GPS feature set. Your choice will depend on your needs and interests.
Well, I will amend later if I come up with anything else useful.
